On the 19 of March 2021 a volcano eruption started at Fagradalsfjall at Reykjanes Peninsula just a 45 km from Reykjavík city,

Fagradalsfjall 390m high is Tuff mountain on Reykjanes peninsula made under ice so it is from last Ice age that ended 10 thousand years ago,

Fagradalsfjall modern history related.

On May 3, 1943, US military plane crash in Fagradalsfjall. only one survived the crash. Fourteen people died, Among them was Frank Maxwell Andrews,

He was a senior officer of the United States Army and one of the founders of the United States Army Air Forces, which was later to become the United States Air Force.

Andrews was the first head of a centralized American air force and the first air officer to serve on the Army's general staff. In early 1943, he took the place of General Dwight D. Eisenhower as commander of all U.S. troops in the European Theater of Operations.

He was the first of four lieutenant generals in the U.S. Army to die during the war, His successor in the army was Eisenhower who later became the president of the United States. so that is the history of Fagradalsfjall so far, but now we have a volcano eruption that could go on for yers to come,
